Best
Buy wants to help students prepare for a brighter future, which
starts with a college education.
That’s why since 1999 Best Buy has awarded
over $10 million in scholarships to more than 9,000 students.
This year 1,500 students will be selected to receive awards of $1,500
each. An additional 51 students will receive awards of $10,000 each.
Qualified applicants must:
- be a graduating high school senior
living in the United States or Puerto Rico.
- live within 75 miles of a Best Buy
Store in the United States or Puerto Rico.
- have a minimum cumulative high
school grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or an equivalent).
- demonstrate commitment to and
involvement in volunteer community service or work experience.
- plan to enroll in a full-time
undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year
college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United
States or Puerto Rico no later than fall 2008.
Scholarships are awarded based on a range of
criteria which usually reflect the values and purposes of the donor or
founder of the award.
Who is
eligible to apply for a Best Buy Scholarship?
Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors living within 75
miles of a Best Buy store who will be attending a college, university or
vocational school located in the U.S. or Puerto Rico beginning in the fall
immediately following graduation.
How are scholarship recipients selected?
Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievements,
volunteerism efforts, and work experience.
